Last Sunday on the ferry boat from Stockholm to Helsinki Henjo was badly injured falling down a stairway. He suffered strong bruises which made it impossible for him to play the upcoming shows. He was directly delivered to a hospital in Helsinki where he was examined and treated with strong painkillers. Now Henjo is at home in Hamburg for recovery but he hopes to be able to jump on the running tour again soon. The band hopes that he's back already for the Gothenburg show but can't promise it. Latest for the show in Moscow Henjo will be back on stage. In the meantime he's replaced by Kasperi Heikkinen from the finnish Gamma Ray tribute band Guardians Of Mankind. Kasperi is the second member of Guardians Of Mankind beside Keyboarder Eero Kaukomies who joines the Gamma Ray line up on the Majestic tour.
We all wish Henjo a good and fast recovery!
Henjo's eye surgery went better than expected. Nevertheless Henjo cannot play the shows in Lichtenfels, Prag, Langen and Saarbrücken. The band decided to engage guitar player Kasperi Heikkinen from Finland again to play the four shows mentioned above. Kasperi already replaced Henjo for a few shows in 2006.

On November, 5th the brasilian band Angra celebrated its 14th anniversary with a very special and extended show in Sao Paulo.
"...nevertheless, nothing of that would diminish the more than special participation in the festivities of a true living legend. Kai Hansen, former Helloween guitar player/singer and currently leading Gamma Ray, showed up on the stage to sing Temple Of Hate with the band. He was clearly amazed by the audience reaction to his presence and would come to the stage again to play guitar and sing during the execution of the Helloween hit I Want Out. People went nuts..."
At last! Gamma Ray has finally got around to giving us something incredible to watch: after this year?s US tour the boys from Hamburg decided it was high time for a proper double DVD. It simply isn't enough to excel on stage. No, the boys wanted to dazzle the fans, amuse them and update them with interesting news tit bits.
Totally unfazed by the omnipresent football world cup and the prevailing hot summer weather, this active quartet viewed hours of movie footage. Now they are nearly finished with their brand new visual masterpiece with the, erm, slightly different title: "Hell Yeah!!! The Awesome Foursome (and the Finnish keyboarder who didn't want to wear his Donald Duck costume) Live In Montreal"
Next to a magical performance on 6th May in Medley, Montral/Canada, there's tons of great behind-the-scenes footage, courtesy of camera man Markus Kreuz, who accompanied the band at all times. The band allowed the camera to run 24/7, resulting in a plethora of impressions, ranging from country and people, to profound comments by the Nightliner-bus driver. This is truly a great road movie with and unusually intimate insight into the life of a band on the road, the tour bus, and pretty much everything else. The highs and lows, the goofy and the profound, shopping, immigration troubles, missed flights, the works' uncut and raw, and Gamma Ray are proud of it - and rightly so!
There is ample of additional material on the bonus DVD, with a big historical part, with live footage of gigs of yesteryear and backstage material from Japan and the Wacken Open Air. Last but definitely not least, there is the entire collection of the band's video-clips to be found on there. Great stuff!
Singer and guitarist Kai Hansen says:
"We have been thinking about doing a live DVD for a long time now. We simply owed it to all the loyal fans out there who have supported us for all these years. But we always lacked the time to actually execute a project of such a big dimension. Well, here you go! This is a DVD to our taste, versatile and interesting with a live-overview of Gamma Ray through the ages, while the main focus is on the albums that were produced with the current band line-up that has existed since 1998. The road movie speaks for itself, and all the great extras are also a great souvenir for us as a band to remind us of the great times so far."
So, all's well that ends well. After all the hard work of the last weeks and months, this audio visual milestone is close to completion. Here is a little taster to give you a little insight into what's yet to come.
Enjoy!!

Hi Rayniacs,
after leaving you alone several weeks without any news about our DVD project we can now proudly say that the production is completely finished so that now it would be the record company's turn to bring it in the stores asap. But (unfortunately there's always a but) we were informed last week that the Sanctuary office in Berlin will be closed by the end of this year which makes it impossible to release the DVD shortly . As next we have to find a solution with the Sanctuary office in the UK which is now responsible for the release timing and if we consider all the promotional machinery which starts working in front of a release we expect that the release has to be postponed to spring 2007.
Nevertheless we continue in parallel with the songwriting and the recording of the first demos for the next album "Land Of The Free II" so that we are hopefully be able to bring two new releases in stores during next year.
I know these are sad news for all of you who have waited since month for the release and expected to watch the DVD at the latest under the x-mas tree. But you can be sure that we're also very disappointed with the actual situation and work hard on a solution for the release. As soon as the situation is clarified we will be back with more news.
Thanks for your patience and keep your heads up high!
Cheeerzzz from da Rayzzzz
Dear All,
in our latest statement regarding our DVD release we have probably evoked the impression that it's Sanctuary's sole fault that the DVD has not been released yet. This is not correct.
The original plan was to release it in September, which Sanctuary could not hold, because the whole postproduction process took the band and the Videocompany longer than we expected. This was due to the Bands live activities and other factors that you could sum up as: we were too slow on everything.... Now that we are ready to finalise the master, we have to face the fact that the Berlin Office of Sanctuary, which has always done a good job for us, will be closed. So, as mentioned in our previous Statement, we now have to check out how the DVD will be released and promoted and make a new plan. We are sorry for having caused confusion with our latest Statement and if anyone wants to put the blame on someone for not having 'Hellyeah...' in their DVD player by now, put it on us.... Anyhow it's gonna come and we'll surely keep you updated.
Thank you and Metal Cheerzzz from Da Rrrayzzzz
Dear Friends,
...it's been a while since you've had some news from the band and since there's been a lot of questions asked by many, we thought the time is right to give you an update from the Gammaray Camp.
About the DVD: The current status is that everything is ready so far, except for the 'Home Video' part of the Bonus section. We have made our way through quite a bit of tapes, CD's, DVD's etc. filmed by ourselves, friends, fans, crew and so on and there's a lot of material that had to be converted, cut and edited. Yesterday I spoke to the Videocompany and they told me that it was layed on ice for two weeks because they had two other shootings to do, but we should get a viewing copy by the end of the week.... let's see. This thing seems to be turning into a never ending story... sh*t, we just want to say 'done' now and announce a release date... which hopefully is going to be before summer
